The wildlife creatures highlighted here and throughout our web pages remind us of the many lives that depend upon land being kept natural and safe.

At the end of each day, we at the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust know why we are here. It is not just about open space and wilderness. It is about creating Shelters Without WallsTM for all wildlife: large, small, endangered and common.

This is important work, vital to the survival of wildlife. But keeping undeveloped land in its natural state is only the first step. In the larger view, we are working to create a world in which animals are respected for their intrinsic value and humane solutions are sought to human-wildlife conflicts.

We are deeply grateful to all of our donors for their foresight and compassion for wildlife, and we look forward to protecting an ever-increasing number of lands in the coming years.

Bobcat Close-Up

Bobcats have long been the target of hunters and trappers. Still, the primary threat to this great cat is the loss of habitat.
